Above: This photo was taken on top of Snake Butte near the cliffs on the northeast side. The continental glacier transported many rocks like this from northern Canada to northern Montana. As you travel Montana's "Hi-Line" the foreign rocks, called "erratics", can be seen scattered on the prairie, or in piles where farmers have placed them so the land could be plowed.
